Yesterday I was in Hanover for the first time in my new job. There, the members of the District Advisory Council gathered to decide on the nomination of candidates for the European Parliament.

With great enthusiasm, Bernd Lange, a committed politician from the district of Harburg, was elected as candidate. The election of the experienced and capable candidate caused jubilation and hearty congratulations from those present.

Bernd Lange, who already has many years of political experience and has already done valuable work as a Member of the European Parliament, was unanimously elected by the members of the District Advisory Council due to his commitment and passion for European affairs. His knowledge of international relations and his commitment to social justice made him an outstanding choice for the position of candidate. The Hanover SPD district, proud of its home-grown politician, has achieved a significant success with this election and has opened the European election campaign.

The European election will take place on 09 June 2024.
