At the beginning of the year, Lower Saxony's President of the Office for the Protection of the Constitution, Dirk Pejri, emphasized that the greatest danger in Lower Saxony at present comes from right-wing extremism. In recent years, however, the focus has no longer been on classic neo-Nazi groups.

Corona protests, conspiracy narratives, the rejection of the liberal democratic basic order - terms that have increasingly been mentioned in recent months in connection with the topic of right-wing extremism. But what is the current situation in the Federal Republic? How has the far-right scene become radicalized and how can politics and civil society work together to strengthen democracy?

This is what the SPD sub-district of the district of Harburg would like to discuss in a joint event with the SPD district of Hanover
