Yesterday evening (November 15, 2022), the panel discussion on the route dispute "Expansion or new construction?" took place in the district. At the invitation of our Member of the Bundestag, Svenja Stadler, more than 400 visitors came to Seevetal Castle.

Frank Limprecht (DB Netz AG), Kirsten Lühmann (SPD), Martin Mützel (VCD Lower Saxony) and Dr. Peter Dörsam (Alpha E project advisory board) came to the panel discussion on a possible new Deutsche Bahn line.

In the course of the discussion, Deutsche Bahn tried to give the interested citizens an understanding of the controversial new construction route between Hamburg and Hanover.

It was the first time that a railroad manager had spoken publicly about Deutsche Bahn's plans. Frank Limprecht mentioned that he holds out the prospect of tunnel construction, noise protection and more local transport stops to affected communities and landowners.

Like Frank Limprecht, the Lower Saxony chairman of the German Transport Club, Martin Mützel, is also in favor of a new line.

It was an informative event. I am very pleased that the railroad company has finally agreed to participate in a follow-up event at the beginning of next year. This will give us the opportunity to present new findings and results on site.

Of course I will keep you informed.
