After three-year Corona break the SPD Unterbezirk district Harburg had loaded on past Sunday again to the traditional New Year receipt to Marxen.

At the invitation of our Member of the Bundestag and UB Chairwoman Svenja Stadler, the New Year's reception took place last Sunday. Numerous guests were invited, among them the Member of the European Parliament Bernd Lange and the Deputy Chairwoman of the SPD and Federal Minister of Construction Klara Geywitz.

In her welcome address, Svenja Stadler mentioned Russia's war of aggression on Ukraine and the associated energy crisis and refugee problem, climate change and also addressed regional issues such as local public transport in the district of Harburg.

The Federal Minister for Housing, Urban Development and Construction, Minister of Construction Klara Geywitz, reported on the topic "How does 'good housing' work?". A very interesting point of her speech was the social housing construction, the promotion of housing cooperatives, climate-friendly construction as well as affordable housing for young people.

Here, she explicitly addressed the project 'Junges Wohnen' (Young Housing), with which the federal government is funding the creation of housing specifically for students and trainees with 500 million euros this year.

It was a more than successful New Year's reception with interesting discussions and a great buffet, which enjoyed great popularity.
